The brief

Adventure awaits in sacred lands.

Halfeti is a half-sunken stone village on the banks of the Euphrates — one of the four rivers named in Genesis, and the river that ran past Babylon, Carchemish, and the prophets. We've chosen it as the home of our flagship journey because here, scripture isn't an idea. It's the ground under your feet, the water at your side, the bread in your hands.

Three days. Two nights. A small group of pilgrims. One pastor teaching the parables on the land that grew them.

The journey

Three days. Three themes.

Food · Agriculture · Animals. A deep dive into scripture on the banks of the Euphrates.

Theme 1

Food

5 loaves & 2 fish

Engage with local fishermen and experience life on the Euphrates. Make bread with your own hands and internalise the miracle of 5 loaves and 2 fish.

Theme 2

Agriculture

Mustard seeds, farming, fig trees

Engage with local farmers. Understand the timeless biblical parables of the sower, the mustard seed and the fig tree. Hear God for yourself in this landscape.

Theme 3

Animals

Sheep, goat, cow, birds

Reflect on the sacrifices that biblical characters had to make. Then, consider and see Jesus, the Lamb of God, who has come to take away the sins of the world.
