Most of what people want to know before they apply. If you can't find your answer here, write to us.

The basics

Three: Expeditions (multi-day wilderness journeys such as Biblical Rivers in Halfeti), Character Journeys (shorter, story-led retreats such as The Moses Journey), and Races (endurance events such as the Dead2Red Challenge).

No. Our trips are rooted in scripture and led by a teaching pastor, but we welcome the curious, the seeking, and the skeptical. Come with an open heart and boots that fit.

Small on purpose. Twelve pilgrims per expedition. Character Journeys and Races run a little larger but are still capped so nobody gets lost in the crowd.

Fitness & safety

You should be comfortable walking 8–15 km per day on uneven ground with a light daypack. We publish a training plan once you're accepted, and we offer an optional Wilderness First Aid add-on pre-departure.

Every expedition has a WFR-trained guide, a full trauma kit, and satellite communications. We also require applicants to disclose any medical conditions on the application form.

Yes. We run mixed cohorts, our local partners are vetted, and our guides live in these mountains. Many of our pilgrims come solo.

Cost & applications

Pricing varies by trip. Each expedition brief lists its starting price, or shows "on request" while a cohort is still being costed — write to us and we'll send the full breakdown. There is no application fee; a $100 deposit is only requested once you're accepted.

Ground transport from the arrival airport, all lodging and meals in the field, guides, teaching, permits, and safety equipment. International flights and travel insurance are on you.

We offer a partial refund up to 90 days before departure. After that, we can transfer your place to another cohort where possible.

On the trip

Mostly under the stars in expedition-grade bedrolls, with a few nights in Bedouin camps or retreat centres depending on the itinerary.

Each trip has its own packing list on the brief page. In short: layers, sturdy boots, a Bible, a notebook, and less than you think.

You'll have satellite messaging in an emergency, but part of the point is to unplug. Expect long stretches without signal — and enjoy them.
